President's Comments:

Dr. Bertie ChimilioThe year 2008 was a year of work, excitement and Great for Football in Belize.

The year started with a bang as we continued work with the National "A" Team in preparation for the World Cup Qualifiers. In February 2008 we played St. Kitts Nevis and defeated them 3x1 in a home game which was held in Guatemala City. It was a election time here in Belize and I guess everyone here can remember the political commercials. Members history was made, Belize won its first World Cup game and advanced. After defeating St. Kitts it was time to meet Mexico the Giant of CONCACAF.

2008 was a great year for Youth Football as for the first time in our history we had two youth selections participating in International Tournaments. It was also great for Refereeing, Technical Development and Infrastructure Development. Colleagues more need to be done. Every member must find ways to organize itself as this will be the only way we will grow.

2009 promises to be a challenging year, the world is in a recession and Belize will not escape, this means fewer sponsors, fewer programs and fewer fans. It is in times like these that we must be innovative in making things work. We shall be participating in the UNCAF Nation's cup. 2009 will be a year where Women's Football should and will be our priority. We also look forward to having our seating facility completed. We need to work in all areas of Football let us not forget Futsal, Beach Soccer and Sports Medicine.

Together we can for the Game, for Belize, for the World. I say For the Love of the Sport, Support
